The software support person at Iolo claimed to have no record of my purchase in spite of my inputting the activation key prior to trying to use it. His solution was to spend anywhere from $100 to $300 dollars for a version of System Mechanic with technical support when all I wanted to do was clean the hard drive before giving the computer away. They ended up saying there was no download for Drive Scrubber (despite directions saying I could download the program to a thumb drive and run it from that.
Technical support tried to solve the problem. My attempts resulted in a circle of putting the original disk in the computer, following directions to create a boot disk, reboot the computer with the boot disk which resulted in being asked to "create a boot disk. I purchased Iolo Drive Scrubber at Staples to clean the hard drive on my Windows10 computer.Īfter several hours of attempts and "support?" for an hour with an Iolo technician the program would not boot on my computer.
